11/09 Florida 21 Vandy 17
| You had to be there to see how sad this
game was. Having been to the UT game in Knoxville and then going to
Nashville to see Vandy and their "traditions" was a complete reversal of
experience. They stadium had more Gators in the crowd and I did not
see one person tailgate by the stadium. In fact, I only saw Gator fans
with their flags and Tennessee Titans fans, but absolutely no Vanderbilt
fans. Sad, but true. The floor mat of the SEC simply has no team
spirit. I dont blame them thought...they did look terrible, but so did
the Gators. The campus is beautiful and they got money as it shows in how spotless the place was. The game was just as sad. We played not to lose and we completed no balls downfield longer than say 15 yards. All we did was play a safe conservative game so we did not lose. The problem is that Vandy had multiple chances to win, but they are simply a bad team and we prevailed. Such was the feeling of disgust that the usual "parade" of players at the end of a road win did not even occur. The players vanished into the locker room and that was the end of this sad game. Graham did run for 125 yards against an inferior defense. That was about the only bright spot of the game. I won't traveling to Vandy again, that is for sure as the atmosphere was terrible and the town sucks. Now, we need to prepare for Lou Holtz and the dangerous COCKS as we also need to root for Auburn.
