Series Games and Notes
| The Gators are fresh off that tremendous
victory in Knoxville. On come the Wildcats which always have a
good game plan and with their new coach a good offensive plan.
After a huge last second win against Tennessee, the Gators have to avoid a let-down against Kentucky. If the Gators remember, Tennessee dominated their game - other than in the red zone. Kentucky is going to move the ball. QB Jared Lorenzen (22) led the 'Cats to more than 400 yards of offense against Indiana, and he'll try to do the same in the Swamp. Florida has to move the ball better against Kentucky, or there could be an upset brewing. With Jabbar Gaffney suspended for trash talking and unsportsman-like conduct, the Gators will be without their best receiver in the first half. Look for Florida to run up the score on UK. UK will score some points, but the Gators will outscore UK in a scoring-fest. Hal Mumme will have a few tricks up his sleeve, but it won't be enough. Florida will unload the bench and we will get a chance to see Rex Grossman and hopefully Brock Berlin. Coach Steve Spurrier was the first to admit the Gators got outplayed in Knoxville, but all that matters is that they're in the driver's seat -- as usual -- in the SEC Eastern Division race. Spurrier pulled a surprise by sticking with quarterback Jesse Palmer all the way at Tennessee and Palmer came through in the fourth quarter. To win the Gators have to nullify the aerial attack of Hal Mumme, get into a fast rhythm, and keep going at UK. UK will make mistakes and we need to capitalize on those mistakes. Look for the Gators to win BIG!!
