Game Notes

These two teams will be meeting for the 30th time.   In a classic SEC East match up, the division is on the line.  The SEC East has never gone to another team.  Each team has won a National Title in the last four years and this is going to be a war.

The Gators are 13-16 overall against UT, but have won 11 of the last 14 meetings including the six of the last seven meetings with the winning team scoring 31 points or more in wild, high scoring affairs.  The last time we played up in the hills of Knoxville, we gave UT a gift and they went on to win the National Title.  Fumbles and a last second missed field goal, led the Vols to victory.

The Gators need to mix it up and keep those Vols off balance.  Most importantly, Jesse needs to be on target, identify one-on-ones and the O-line needs to protect him.  Earnest Graham should have a field day against this defense and take some pressure off of Palmer.  Spurrier needs to stay with Palmer even if he flounders.  Rex Grossman is not ready in my opinion.  Palmer must continue to go deep and be on target.  On the defensive front, the front three needs to plug the gaps, and not allow UT to run the ball.  Defensively, we will be fine.

The kicking game killed us last year and in Knoxville 2 years ago.  Not the case this time.  Chandler is ready.

UT looked bad against Southern Mississippi and the went idle last week.

The game will be televised by CBS on a regional basis from Knoxville.

The Gators will move into a solid position for the National Title with a good #4 rating.
