| After a long, painful year of dealing
with volunteers rubbing in our face their stupid National Title, the
Florida Gators continue their home game winning streak (30) and BEAT THE
TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS 23-21. How sweet. In a game that was
closer than it should have been and a mistake prone performance by Doug
Johnson, Florida prevails with excellent defense stopping Jamal Lewis on a
4th down play late in the game.
Alex Brown was awesome with five sacks (did you see him counting them in front of Tee Martin?), the the rest of the defense stopped the "big play" and prevented UT from scoring on the big long gains. This victory is redemption for the crappy loss last year, and now the Gators are in the driver seat poised to win the SEC East Title. The win was also characterized with good running offense by the Gators and what a difference those fields goals make. Without the kicking game we would have been screwed. The game was hard to win, with rare missed 4th down plays and 4 interceptions. In addition, Florida was penalized unfairly in one play when the UT center snapped the ball (thinking he would get a cheap off-sides, but Tee Martin was not looking) and the Florida defenders jumped over the line and tackled the UT players. What were they supposed to do? Officials you made a bad call!!. The officials and their calls were not in the favor of UF, but we prevailed. The is truly a sweet victory for Florida and now we must prepare for a visit to Kentucky.
