Game Notes
These two teams will be meeting for the 29th time. In a classic SEC East match up, the division is on the line. UT is the defending SEC and National Champion, and the pressure will be on them.
The Gators are 12-16 overall against UT, but have won 10 of the last 13 meetings including the four of the last six meetings with the winning team scoring 31 points (in all but last years debacle) or more in wild, high scoring affairs. Last year was a gift from the Gators for the Volunteers. Fumbles and a last second missed field goal, led the Vols to victory.
This game will be played in The Swamp and UT was idle last week. They looked fair against Wyoming.
Jammal Lewis is coming back from injury. He should be a threat and the Gator defense must start to play like a big time "D" by stopping him. If the Gators can hold Lewis and rush Martin enough to keep him off, Florida will win.
The game will be televised by CBS on a regional basis from The Swamp.
This game will be decided by the third quarter. Johnson will light it up and the crowd will play a factor in this game throwing UT off and causing them to make mistakes. Porky Fulmer's luck stop this Saturday in Gainesville. ESPN, CBS and the rest of the college football world will be focused on this game.
The Gators will move into a solid position for the National Title with a good #2 rating.
