In a game that started with another defensive mistake, Doug Johnson demonstrated why he is a top quarterback in the country, and Earnest Graham showed he is ready to become the tailback we so much missed last year.  With a 58-27 drubbing of UCF, Florida is still needs to improve on the defensive front if they are going to have shot at the Vols next week in the Swamp.

The final score shows how Spurrier runs the score up lowly opponents, but if you saw the game, the 2nd and 3rd stringers were on the field most of the second half.  In addition, Florida wants to practice game scenarios so "running it up" is a non-issue.

Florida keeps the unbeaten streak at The Swamp alive at 29 victories, longest in the country.

The defense showed minor improvements recovering some fumbles and rushing the QB from time to time.  Still, the secondary got burnt and they allowed some big  plays.  Against the Vols, the Gators have to improve on defense.  Further, they had a blocked punt, but a missed PAT.  

The Volunteers come into Gainesville ranked as defending National Champions and ranked ahead of the Gators.  Winning this game next week sets the Gators up for a SEC east title and  a BCS match up.  

BOTTOM LINE:
Some improvement against a marginally worst opponent.  Started only played half a game, so I hope that does not play against us in conditioning.
