Game Notes
These two teams have never played before. I expect a massacre and Coach Spurrier to test many of his players and as usual "run-it-up" against an understated opponent. NEL is coming in for a big payday and leaving with a huge black eye. Lets hope the Gators can utilize this game to tune-up the offense and defense and prepare for Tennessee next week.
From a Florida's standpoint, Free Safety Teake Brown back on the field. He was out last week with a suspension. He is a senior and will add great experience to a secondary that is relatively young. Last week's performance by the Gator's proves they have room to improve. They held team meetings and they are committed to show why last week was a "poor" performance. Coach Spurrier called last week's win "sloppy". I expect to see power out of the Gators this week as the prepare for UT.
As far as the QB goes, this is Palmer's job to loose. He showed promise last week and must improve. However, overall he looks ok. NEL will present Palmer with a more aggressive defense with more stunts and blitzes than The Citadel. However, I do expect to see the fleet of QBs by the third quarter as the score will be up by 40 to 50 points.
I hope we learn from this game. Other than that, we have not much to win other than an early season W. NEL has $400,000 to win.
