Game Notes

The 1997 season opener marks the 13th meeting between this two southern schools.  The 92nd opener should be a classic season opening blowout with Florida winning by a commanding 40+ points.  This is the first time these two teams met since 1953 when UF won 60-0 in Jacksonville.  The Gators are 13-0 against this team and are 26-1 in the last 27 season openers. 
Under Spurrier, Florida is 8-0 in season starts and The Citadel should brace themselves for a good ol' Gator whooping!!  This Southern Conference team is in for a big payday, but in exchange they will get their butts kicked.
