fsu to play Nebraska... NOT!! They
are Swamped!!

11/22 Florida 32 fsuSUCKS 29

Without a chance to defend our National Title against Nebraska, the Gators season came down to spoiling the hopes of the hated CRIMINOLES. Down by 4, Doug Johnson solidified his position and has a place in the heart and minds of all Gators. He took the team downfield and scored the go ahead touchdown to give the Gators a 32-29 victory over the SEMENHOLES.

Spurrier in a gutsy move playing QB shuffle proves to the world that you do not need a starting QB to be the star. He alternated Brindise and Johnson all day and got the job done.

This denies any shot by the noles at a National Title since their cup-cake league has no title game and no chance to jump anyone in the polls. My prediction was right on with regards to this game being close and although we made more mistakes than the noles and did not get the breaks, the Gators prevail and may have improved their chances of an alliance bowl.

Spurrier's play calling was somewhat questionable going for deep, long, low percentage pass plays, and although I do not agree with some of Spurrier's play calling, the one that counts was the last pass by Doug Johnson with under 2 minutes - a 63 yard pass to Quezzie Green. Then, Fred Taylor ran the ball another 17 yards to setup deciding touchdown.

As predicted, Fred Taylor had a great game, running for 162 yards and scoring 4 touchdowns. He ran all over this overrated fsu defense and proved that he is one of the best backs in the country. His NFL stock is now in the first round.

The fans were into this one the entire game and Thad "Busboy" showed his done a great job during his career, but against cheap competition. The one bright thing the noles have is Travis Minor. We will have to deal with him for the next three years. He is a good one and will be better than Warrick Dunn if he stays healthy.

The Gators sporting the all blue uniform, came out with fire, but the Gators had two early fumbles leading to fsu scores (one field goal and one TD). However, Florida would not give in and had to live with the wrath of a missed extra point and two failed 2-point conversions....and with all this bad luck the game still had seven lead changes in what was one of the best college football games ever played.

Another bright spot for the Gators was the great protection that Brindise and Johnson enjoyed - NO SACKS! Also, the play of young wide receiver Nafis Karim - he will be a good one and will have to step up to replace Jacquez Green.

A sweaty Bobby Bowden (he looked terrible) was out-coached, giving into a field goal late in the game to go up by four thinking the Gators could not come back with just under 3 minutes left in the game. Spurrier introduced some gadget plays (as predicted), and challenged his team to come from behind. You can almost see the relief in his face .....beating fsu and getting this ninth win of the season. I was right in assessing that fsu's toughest game was going to be against an SEC tested team and not the cup-cakes of the ACC.

Statistically, the game was all Gators with the exception of the turnovers. fsu capitalized (10 points) and the Gators did not. That could have been the turning point of the game, but as it turned out it did not matter. Also, the Gators rushed and threw for more yards beating this fsu team fair and square. It was an impressive showing of tenacity by the Gators not to let this one get away. Doug Johnson will be the starter next year, but he needs some serious work. Spurrier has his hands full.

I am so happy this game is in the books with a fantastic win 32-29. Now, the next prediction is what bowl and who will we play. My guess is the Citrus against a tough Penn St. team that we have a great shot at beating and proving that their ain't no better conference than the SEC and the Gators will probably finish in the Top 5 when its all said and done.

Congratulations on a great season to Fred Taylor, Jacquez Green, Fred Weary, and Ellijah Williams. These guys played BIG and they carried this team. They will do a fine job on Sundays.

Steve Spurrier proves again that he is the best coach in the nation. This win extends the Swamp winning streak to 21 games and only 2 losses at home in the nineties since he became head coach. This makes the all time record against fsu 26-14-2. You have a long way to go SEMENHOLE.

Lee Corso and the rest of the ESPN clowns predicted fsu by 20 or 30 plus points. These are the experts? What is wrong with these guys... they do not realize that UF was ranked #1, is the defending National Champions, and playing fsu in the Swamp... it spells UPSET all the way and it was a great game. Sorry noles, you and all the prognosticators were wrong.

Finally, for all those noles that got taken to the woodshed....would y'all like some crow?
