Series Games and Notes
| This will
be the 44th meeting between the two teams. This series
has proven to be extremely competitive over time with UF
holding a narrow 22-18-3 (I was at the 21-21 tie in
1984). This is an annual meeting and the Gators have had
the Tigers' number winning the last nine games. Coach
Spurrier has never lost to LSU as a player (three wins)
and as a coach (7 wins). This is the best team UF will have played to date. It will be in Baton Rouge which is know as Death Valley. The Gators have played very well at LSU in the past, but I am nervous about this game. We cannot afford any penalties or Doug Johnson mistakes. Expect the Tigers to be fired up and ready for a war against the Gators. Gerry DiNardo was embarrassed last year and he has planned for revenge. Also, keep in mind that this game puts LSU out of any SEC hopes if they loose. I expect a tough game with the Gators edging out LSU by 3 or 4 points. The kicking game will play a big role as the Gators must get all chances converted including those extra points. |
